The bug linked up there is a simple one, you can try to fix a minimun size for a JFrame (or any java.awt.Frame child ) and this won’t be taken into account. You can always resize the window whatever minimum size you fix. Not tremendous… but that’s part of the bugs (see below for more) which makes Swing coding a nightmare. I’m sure that Swing afficionados will find thousands good reason for a JFrame not to have a minimum size but I’ll reply that’s why people don’t invest more on Swing. Oh btw, this bug is…more than 5 years old
That’s not the first time that a quite old bug are going to be fixed by the Swing team @ sun. If you follow the new Romain Guy’s weblog or Chet Haase’s Blog you’ll see that quite a lot of effort are put into solving some annoying bug in Swing.
